Country Music Hall of Fame Sets Record

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum broke its all-time attendance record in 2012 with a total of 564,777 guests. Their revenue also climbed 15 percent over the last year, while their operating expenses increased by about 9 percent. Museum director Kyle Young cited new exhibits about the Bakersfield Sound, Taylor Swift's Speak Now tour and Patsy Cline's career for the boost, along with a strong schedule of live programs and events. "Finally, Nashville continues to thrive as a tourism destination, and we are happy to contribute to and benefit from this. There's an incredible synergy happening in our city, and it's exciting to be a part of it," Young added.
