Tim McGraw Announces Tour Dates
Tim McGraw's Two Lanes of Freedom tour launches May 2 in Birmingham, Ala., and will hit 30 cities in the U.S. and Canada through the end of July. Brantley Gilbert and Love and Theft will also be appearing with the headliner.
McGraw has partnered with Tumblr to create "Fanticipation," a program which will allow fans to announce through Tumblr when tickets will be available in their own hometown. Beginning in early February, McGraw will call a fan in each market who is selected to participate in the program and personally tip them off regarding the on-sale date so they can share the information with their friends and other McGraw fans first.
The tour begins shortly after McGraw and wife Faith Hill conclude the limited engagement of their Soul2Soul concert series at the Venetian in Las Vegas. Those shows continue Saturday and Sunday (Jan. 18-19) and end April 27.
The tour supports McGraw's new album, Two Lanes of Freedom, set for release on Feb. 5. It marks his first album for Big Machine Records.
"This album marks a new sense of excitement and artistic freedom for me, and I really wanted to extend that same feeling to the tour and create a cool vibe for the fans," McGraw said in announcing the tour. "Let's leave anything that might be weighing us down out in the parking lot and spend a few hours together feeling alive and free. We've started working up new songs from the album, and there's some really cool stuff we'll be able to pull out this summer."
