OFFSTAGE: Jay DeMarcus Reveals Favorite Journey Songs

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Super Bowl Eve might actually be better than Super Bowl Sunday. For music lovers, anyway, because that's the night Journey and Rascal Flatts are teaming up for a special late night CMT Crossroads at the New Orleans Sugar Mill. And Jay DeMarcus recently talked about how it feels to be rehearsing for that show. "It's been really freaky standing onstage, playing bass parts to Journey tunes that I grow up loving as a kid," he said in an interview with Chicago's country radio station WUSN. His all-time favorite Journey songs, he said, are "Faithfully" and "Separate Ways." I'd love to hear Rascal Flatts do both of those, about as much as I'd love to hear Journey do "Here Comes Goodbye" and "Bless the Broken Road." DeMarcus also admitted who he'd be cheering for the next day when the game comes on. "I gotta go with the 9ers. I've never cared for the Ravens," he said. The CMT Crossroads episode will air Saturday (Feb. 2) at 11 p.m. ET/PT.
