OFFSTAGE: Carrie Underwood: Instagrams Her Way through Life

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Instagram! It's not just for teenagers anymore! Carrie Underwood signed up for the online photo-sharing network Thursday (Feb. 14) and already has more than 52,000 followers. (She's only following six for now: Oprah and Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott among them.) One of her last photos -- which she hashtagged "bus food" -- was of her dinner: a Brussels salad and a veggie burger. And I seriously think this is why Instagram exists -- so people can share images of gorgeous food. But Underwood also has a kind of glamour shot of one of her dogs, Penny Jean. Another image shows the daily quote taped to the door of her dressing room at her recent Colorado Springs show: "To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first, and whatever you hit, call it the target!!" Underwood's first photo was just a selfie, explaining she joined to kick off the second half of her tour. I think Underwood will make her tour life an open book because one of the pictures she posted is of her with an oxygen mask on. "In high altitudes, they put oxygen in my dressing room under the stage." So far, more than 10,000 of her followers "liked" that one, making it her most-liked photo by far.
