CMA Donates $1.2 Million to Music Education in Nashville Public Schools

The Country Music Association's CMA Foundation donated $1.2 million to benefit music education programs in Nashville's public schools during a Tuesday night (Feb. 19) event. Scotty McCreery hosted the concert at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in downtown Nashville. The American Idol winner also performed with students of Sylvan Park Elementary during the celebration. The money raised during the 2012 CMA Music Festival is part of the organization's ongoing Keep the Music Playing campaign. The campaign has now raised more than $6.5 million to create music labs and purchase instruments and supplies for all 144 Metro Nashville public schools through a partnership with the Nashville Public Education Foundation.
