OFFSTAGE: Miranda Lambert Wants to Be Dolly Parton Big

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

It makes sense that Miranda Lambert would want to follow in Dolly Parton's footsteps. I mean, who wouldn't? So don't be surprised if you start seeing even bigger things ahead for Lambert. "You know, I feel like I'm just still scratching the surface, believe it or not. I want to build an empire," she told CMT Radio. "I did an interview about Dolly [Parton], and what I've always wanted is to just be an entrepreneur and just keep going and going. Not necessarily physically keep going and going, but I just want to use my music and my career -- and what I've built -- for greater things and get bigger and bigger and bigger ideas and just always find things that inspire me." Maybe that means Lambert will pursue her philanthropic efforts on a grander scale. Or that she'll continue to embrace some more acting gigs. And that she'll write a book. Or that someday, she'll open a Mirandawood theme park in Oklahoma.
