Exile Record Live Album and DVD During Nashville-Area Concert

Exile, the band which scored 10 No. 1 country singles in the '80s, played to a packed house Saturday night (March 16) at the Franklin Theatre near Nashville during a concert recorded for an upcoming live album and DVD. Lead guitarist J. P. Pennington co-founded the band in Richmond, Ky., in 1963 and has served as its frontman on and off ever since. In 1978, it exploded onto the international pop scene with "Kiss You All Over." With bassist Sonny Lemaire, guitarist Les Taylor, drummer Steve Goeztman and keyboardist Marlon Hargis, the current lineup is the same as it was when it switched from pop to country in 1983. The band's No. 1 hits include "Woke Up in Love," "Give Me One More Chance," "I Can't Get Close Enough," "I Don't Want to Be a Memory," "Crazy for Your Love" and "Hang On to Your Heart." Exile will be inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in April.
