OFFSTAGE: Kellie Pickler Reflects on Wynonna’s Exit From Dancing With the Stars

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Kellie Pickler tried to be strong. After Wynonna was eliminated from this week’s Dancing With the Stars, she told CMT Radio, “It is what it is, and that’s gonna happen, and you know somebody’s gonna go home.” But the more she talked, the more it sounds like she’s really going to miss having her country cohort with her in the competition. “I’m so glad and blessed and grateful that I’m still here, and hopefully I’ll be here for the long run,” she said. “But I look up to [Wynonna] so much. She’s such a strong person. She has so many words of wisdom. She has this presence about her that you learn something when you’re around her. She’s such a godly woman. I admire her so much, so I’m definitely gonna miss her being here.” As for Pickler’s own dance number, which earned her high praise from the judges, she wasn’t as thrilled with it as the audience was. “You’re your biggest critic,” she admitted. “I see everything I did wrong before I see anything that I did right.”
