OFFSTAGE: Carrie Underwood Inspired to Be a Hot Wife

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Say your husband was a little pudgy. Maybe had a beer belly, even a man muffin top. How motivated would you be to stay in the best shape of your life? That’s a question Carrie Underwood will probably never have to ask herself because she married Mike Fisher, a professional athlete who looks like he has a flawless body under that Nashville Predators uniform. And she told People magazine that’s one of the reasons she is so committed to her own fitness. “Even when he’s like, ‘I’m so out of shape,’ he still has a six-pack. Having Mike there, I want to be a hot wife,” she said. And she’s not just committed to looking good for Fisher. She’s just flat-out committed. She revealed to the magazine she’d do anything for him — even quit her job. “If Mike ever told me he needed me to quit, I’d quit,” she said. “When you make that promise to somebody, and you stand before God and your family and friends, you’ve got to do everything that you possibly can to make that work.” I’m guessing he feels the same and that he’d probably quit hockey for Underwood, if she ever asked. Let’s hope it never comes to that.
