The night before Jason Aldean played the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium for 60,000 fans, he gave one loyal fan the grand tour of the space — his mom. She joined her son in Athens for his first-ever concert in the Georgia Bulldogs’ stadium. “When my mom got here last night, we took a walk around the stadium, and it was really emotional for both of us,” Aldean says on his website. “This place has always meant so much to me, but when I was a kid, we were flat broke, and my mom couldn’t afford to buy tickets for us to go to a game. So I watched on TV and dreamed about one day seeing it in person.” It seems ironic that Aldean now has more than enough money to buy tickets to any and all games there, yet he was the one doing the playing on Saturday (April 13). “Tonight was beyond my wildest dreams. … The whole thing has honestly shaken me a little bit. … It’s has been a night I will never ever forget,” he said after the show.
