OFFSTAGE: Trisha Yearwood Drops 30 Pounds and Two Sizes

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

How does a woman who has made recipes like Gwen's Fried Chicken with Milk Gravy, Mama's Cornmeal Hushpuppies and Bess London's Pecan Tassies famous even begin to think about dropping 30 pounds? Trisha Yearwood has recently gone from what she calls a tight size 14 down to a size 10. "I designed my own plan that's low-fat, low-sugar 90 percent of the time," Yearwood told People magazine. "I'm doing very little sugar. And occasionally I have the mac and cheese." She also takes Zumba -- a Latin-inspired exercise/dance class -- three times a week. "I fell in love with it!" she said.

Yearwood is really no different from any woman who struggles with weight loss and tries every diet she hears about. "I don't think you can name one diet I haven't done. I'm that girl who buys every magazine where somebody's lost 30 lbs. I guess a part of me didn't want to hear that it's just really hard work," she admitted. Yearwood may be lighter now, but she says she's actually stronger. "I have a strength I never had before. I feel like I can do anything," she said. "I'm not tiny, but I'm happy where I am."
