OFFSTAGE: What Luke Bryan’s Song Isn’t About

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Luke Bryan would be crazy to release another party song, right? I mean, his last few big hits have already been there and done that. And even though his new one, “Crash My Party,” sounds like it might be another big ol’ frat rock song, he explained to CMT Radio that that is not the case. “I think everybody thinks it’s gonna be this big party song,” he said. “But it’s actually a love song about a guy telling a girl, ’Hey, no matter what I’m doing, you could text me or call me, and I’m dropping my party, and we’re getting together.'” In this day and age, I actually think that’s a nice sentiment. Romantic even. Like in the song when Bryan sings that if he sees her face on his phone, he’ll drop everything to be with her. Bryan explained it like this: “I think it’s a cool way to tell a girl, ’Hey, I’m diggin’ you.'”
