George Jones' funeral is scheduled for Thursday (May 2) at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville and will be open to the public. A private visitation for family and close friends will take place Wednesday evening at an undisclosed location. Jones died Friday (April 26) at age 81. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the Grand Ole Opry Trust Fund or the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. In a written statement, Jones' wife Nancy said, "Thanks to George's friends, fans and loved ones for the outpouring of love at this terrible time. I love you all."
