OFFSTAGE: Sheryl Crow: Kids, Diet Keep Her Gorgeous

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Sheryl Crow is 51. That’s 50 — plus 1. How is that even possible? She looks half her age and is featured in People magazine’s most beautiful issue for that very reason. And she modestly reveals her “decades-defying beauty” secrets: her kids and her diet. “Having little children is about getting down and rolling around with them,” she says of her active life with her 6- and 3-year-old sons. (She doesn’t mention P90X, but I definitely remember her raving about the intense workout program a few years ago.) “I try to eat fish at least every other day, and I’ve given up food with red dye in it,” she says of her diet. And as for having work done on her pretty face, Crow says she has not done Botox. Why? “Sometimes people rob their youth by disabling their expressions,” she said. “Natural beauty is when you’re using your natural facial expressions.” So, to recap, kids and fish are good. Red dye and Botox are bad.
