OFFSTAGE: Tim McGraw Hears a "Young Hank Jr."

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Tim McGraw is out on the road right now with Love and Theft and Brantley Gilbert. And in this Q&A with Access Atlanta, McGraw talks about how he ended up choosing both openers. Like how he's a big fan of Love and Theft's music and has toured with them before. And how Gilbert brings to mind Hank Williams Jr.

"Brantley, we're on the same label, which I didn't realize it until I was into it. I love his attitude and he brings a big energy to the stage. He's a good guy. He reminds me of a young Hank Jr.," McGraw said. "I want people to go out with me that I want out there."

McGraw added that he hopes these younger artists don't come to him for any words of wisdom. "I don't know that they want any advice from me! I'm always there, but I might not have the right answers," said McGraw.
