Keith Urban's Wife Sings Along During 2013 CMT Music Awards

As Always, "Little Bit of Everything" Features Stellar Guitar Work

You know you're doing something right when you're onstage and your wife is singing along. In the case of Keith Urban at the 2013 CMT Music Awards, that wife was actress Nicole Kidman.

Urban seized the moment Wednesday night (June 5) at the awards show to perform his latest single, "Little Bit of Everything." With a ukulele and banjo setting the tone for the mid-tempo song, the superstar's restrained guitar solo provided a tasteful bookend to close the performance.

Urban has demonstrated his energy and a strong work ethic throughout his career, and the attention has paid off, including his first season as an American Idol judge. Earlier this year, he helped raise $650,000 for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville by hosing the fourth annual We're All for the Hall concert. More recently, he jammed with John Mayer and Vince Gill at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival in New York City and joined the Rolling Stones onstage at a concert in Los Angeles.

He's been working on Fuse, his first new album since 2010's Get Closer, which will be released in September.

"I really wanted to challenge myself musically ... expand the boundaries of my sound, rhythm and melody, while still remaining true to who I am," he says.

He launches his Light the Fuse tour on July 18 in Cincinnati. In the meantime, he'll be appearing Saturday (June 8) at the CMA Music Festival at Nashville's LP Field in a lineup that includes Florida Georgia Line, Dierks Bentley and Kelly Clarkson, among others.
