Billy Currington’s New Album Due Sept. 17

New Project Includes "Hey Girl" and a Willie Nelson Collaboration

Billy Currington will release a new album titled We Are Tonight on Sept. 17 on Mercury Records. It’s his first album of new material since 2010’s Enjoy Yourself. The project’s lead single is “Hey Girl.” Meanwhile, Currington covers Jack Johnson’s “Banana Pancakes,” and Willie Nelson sings on the song “Hard to Be a Hippie.”

Currington worked with producers Carson Chamberlain, Dann Huff and Shy Carter on the album.

“This album is the first time that I have ever worked with three different producers,” he said. “It wasn’t planned but just kind of happened that way. It was a great experience to be able to bring a different sound to this album, and I hope the fans love it as much as I do.”

Currington released his self-titled debut album in 2003. His six No. 1 hits include “Must Be Doin’ Something Right,” “Good Directions,” “People Are Crazy,” “That’s How Country Boys Roll,” “Pretty Good at Drinkin’ Beer” and “Let Me Down Easy.”
