New duo Striking Matches, pop favorites the Jonas Brothers and an attempt for a 24-hour drumming world record will be part of this year’s O Music Awards on Wednesday (June 19). The “Live Music Day Festival” event will be hosted by the online and mobile platforms of MTV, VH1 and CMT.
As previously announced, Nashville-based duo Striking Matches earned a slot to perform during the OMAs, as well as a chance to appear on the Video Music Awards in August. Meanwhile, Andrew W.K. will lead the day-long drum session with a boost from the Roots’ ?uestlove. (Read an interview with Andrew W.K.)
In addition, the Jonas Brothers will deliver the festival’s first performance. The band will preview a new single, “First Time,” due for a June 25 release.Find out more about the O Music Awards.
