Little Jimmy Dickens Plans Radiation Treatment on Vocal Cords

Little Jimmy Dickens will begin radiation treatments next week for a precancerous condition on his vocal cords, the Grand Ole Opry announced Tuesday (June 25). His doctor's expect him to make a full recovery. "I can't begin to express my sincere gratitude for the thoughts and prayers that are being sent my way," he said. "My family and I appreciate the support, and I can't wait to return home to the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in one of my favorite rhinestone suits someday soon." Dickens, 92, joined the Opry cast in 1948 and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1983.
