OFFSTAGE: Dierks Bentley Says Buy a Firefighter a Drink

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

"Buy a firefighter or serviceman a drink this weekend, it's the least we can do for the safety and services they provide us. R.I.P. brothers." That's the recommendation tweeted from Dierks Bentley and his new Whiskey Row restaurant in Scottsdale, Ariz. It actually opens Thursday (July 4), so if you want to buy a firefighter a drink in Arizona, you don't even have to wait for the weekend. The restaurant is only about 100 miles south of the fires that killed 19 members of an elite wildfire crew on Sunday.

But if you are going to buy yourself or someone else a drink at the place, be prepared to face a lot of tough decisions. The drink menu is packed with 20 signature cocktails. Drinks with names like Cow Tipper, Bushwacker 11, White Trash Boilermaker, Stubborn Mule and Working Class Hero. You could probably also ask for all the bourbon in Kentucky -- and toast Bentley's current single -- if you were feeling brave. According to CMT Radio, Bentley's favorite feature of his restaurant is the tableside beer taps. "There are three taps of beer at your table, so you can sit at your own table, pour your own drinks and watch your money go down," he said. "Bars are something I know really well. I spend a lot of time in them, feel really comfortable there, so it's about time I had my own, I think." To soak up all those cocktails, I'd recommend a fried pickle burger, picnic chicken sliders or the shrimp and grits.
