Dierks Bentley Plans Arizona Firefighter Benefit

Proceeds Will Benefit Children of Fallen Hotshots

Dierks Bentley will headline a fundraising concert in Prescott Valley, Ariz., on July 22 for the families of 19 area firefighters. Known as the Granite Mountain Hotshots, the firefighters were killed while trying to contain wildfires last week.

Proceeds will benefit the United Phoenix Firefighters Charities, which will provide assistance directly to the families of the 19 fallen firefighters. The tragedy left 51 children without fathers. Funerals for the firefighters were held Sunday (July 7).

“I want to help honor the memory of these 19 brave firefighters, to be part of the healing process for the community and to raise money for the families left behind,” Bentley said. “I was and still am devastated by this tragic event in my home state. I certainly can’t imagine what these families are enduring, but I do believe in the healing power of music and hope as many Arizonans as possible can come out and be part of this event.”

The concert will be co-presented by radio stations KMLE/Phoenix and KAFF-FM/Flagstaff-Prescott, Ariz.

Tickets will go on sale Friday (July 12).
