She already won The Voice, but winning the chance to work with Blake Shelton is the real prize for Danielle Bradbery. She told CMT Radio she credits Shelton’s involvement as a judge and mentor on the show with helping her get where she is now — on the verge of releasing her debut country single, “Heart of Dixie.” (The song is a very likeable, fiddle-heavy ballad about Dixie, a woman with a strong heart but a dead-end job and deadbeat drunk of a husband.) Being on Shelton’s team put her in a position to make it in country. “Blake, as a coach and as a friend, too, he’s caring. He really has your back no matter what, and he really makes sure you’re OK with everything, and he treats everybody the same,” Bradbery said. “And he just loves everybody. And, of course, me being 16, and he’s a grown man, so I have that fatherly perspective. So I can talk to him about anything.” She recently told Entertainment Weekly she adores the guitar Shelton gave her when she was on The Voice, she is obsessed with Carrie Underwood songs and that Billy Gilman ‘s concert was the first one she ever attended.
