Taylor Swift Grabs Two Nominations at MTV Video Music Awards

Taylor Swift, Kelly Clarkson and Mumford & Sons are on the list of nominees for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards announced Wednesday (July 17). Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble" is nominated for best female video and video of the year. The video of the year category also includes Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors," Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz's "Thrift Shop," Bruno Mars's "Locked Out of Heaven" and Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell's "Blurred Lines." Other nominees in the female video division include Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Pink and Demi Lovato. Clarkson's "People Like Us" is up for best video with a social message, and Mumford & Sons' "I Will Wait" is nominated for best rock video. MTV will air the Aug. 25 awards show live from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Voting began Wednesday in the general VMA categories at VMA.MTV.com and continues until Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. ET. In addition, voting in the artist to watch category continues through the show on Aug. 25. Verizon subscribers can vote on all categories via SMS by texting VMA to 22444 (standard message rates apply).
