Alan Jackson Records First Bluegrass Album

Alan Jackson has recorded his first-ever bluegrass album, it was announced Wednesday (July 17). Titled simply The Bluegrass Album, it will be released Sept. 24 on ACR/EMI Records Nashville. Featuring eight original songs written for the project, Jackson also chose to include his versions of the Dillards' "There Is a Time," John Anderson's "Wild and Blue" and Bill Monroe's "Blue Moon of Kentucky." Produced by Keith Stegall and Jackson's nephew Adam Wright, a respected list of bluegrass players was enlisted, including Scott Coney, Sammy Shelor, Adam Steffey, Tim Crouch, Tim Dishman, Rob Ickes, Ronnie Bowman and Don Rigsby.
