OFFSTAGE: Florida Georgia Line on “Other People’s Worlds”

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that’s happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Collaborations are everywhere these days. It seems like every country star wants to do one — and usually with another country star. Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift did it. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood did it. Kenny Chesney and McGraw did it. Alan Jackson and the Zac Brown Band did it. And Kelly Clarkson and Jason Aldean did it. But then there are those other kinds, like when Florida Georgia Line had rapper Nelly join them on a remix of their big debut hit, “Cruise.” And the duo talked about doing even more of the same out-there collaborations in the future. “We’ve got a list of people that would be amazing to work with,” Tyler Hubbard said in a recent radio interview. “We’ve always talked about working with Lil Wayne or Wiz Khalifa, for sure. There’s probably a long list. We’re all about stepping out of the box and doing different things and collaborating and getting into other people’s world and let them into our world. There’s something cool about that. … We’re kinda up for anything.”
