Laura Bell Bundy Lands Role on Anger Management

She Begins Taping Series With Star Charlie Sheen This Week

Laura Bell Bundy is joining the cast of Anger Management, the FX network sitcom starring Charlie Sheen. According to an announcement on Bundy’s website, she will portray Dr. Jordan Denby, an “alcoholic recent divorcee who will be a source of emotional whiplash in Charlie’s life as the two embark on a sex study.”

She begins taping the series this week but is also scheduled to appear Friday (Aug. 9) in Wichita, Kan., and Saturday (Aug. 10) as part of Rascal Flatts’ Live & Loud tour.

In her role on Anger Management, Bundy will replace actress Selma Blair, who was dismissed from the series in June following disagreements with Sheen.

Raised in Kentucky, Bundy originated the role of Elle Woods in the Broadway production of Legally Blonde: The Musical, adapting the character Reese Witherspoon played in the film version. Bundy’s acting credits include guest roles on How I Met Your Mother and Hart of Dixie.

Following a national tour of Legally Blonde: The Musical, she embarked on a country music career. In 2010, Mercury Nashville released Achin’ and Shakin’, an album which netted two singles — “Giddy On Up” and “Drop on By.” Recently signed to Big Machine Records, she is working on her first album for the label and will release a new single, “Two Step,” on Aug. 19.
