OFFSTAGE: Taylor Swift Opens Blue Box on Red Tour

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

This is Taylor Swift, speaking the three little words that are on every girl's mind when she is handed a Tiffany blue box. "This looks promising."

On Tuesday (Aug. 20), she was given a gorgeous, personalized Tiffany silver cuff bracelet to celebrate her record-breaking sold-out shows at the Staples Center. She's the first solo artist to sell out 11 nights there. The venue's general manager Lee Zeidman asked Swift, "We've come a long way since we've given you Lakers and Kings jerseys, haven't we?"

After that ceremony, Swift had something promising of her own to share with 20 college students from Grammy U.

"I wanted to let you guys know -- I didn't tell you earlier, I forgot -- these are sold-out shows, but I held back 20 tickets if you guys wanted to come tonight. I don't know if you're busy or anything, but if you wanted to come you certainly can," she said. "I'm very happy to have you guys and very excited that you guys are interested in music and also interested in what we do."

Grammy U is a community of college students studying music and the recording industry and getting an "out of classroom" perspective on the business, thanks to big events like Swift's.
