George Strait Reveals Final Tour Dates

Jason Aldean, Sheryl Crow, Merle Haggard, Miranda Lambert Are Among Those Opening Select Shows

George Strait will perform in 26 cities during the final leg of the Cowboy Rides Away tour, he announced Monday (Sept. 9) during a press conference in Dallas. The tour launches on Jan. 9 in Bossier City, La., and will include stadium appearances at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Gillette Stadium near Boston and LSU's Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La.

A different opening act will appear each week during the tour, and Strait has enlisted an impressive lineup, including Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Ronnie Dunn, Vince Gill, Merle Haggard, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Lee Ann Womack and Chris Young.

In 2012, Strait announced plans to stop touring in 2014. However, he will continue to record and has indicated he may still perform occasionally.

"The first leg of the tour earlier this year was very fun but also very emotional," Strait said. "Every city and venue holds such great memories. I'm really looking forward to seeing our fans out on the road in 2014."

All but one of the tour dates were revealed Monday. The itinerary lists dates through a May 31 show near Boston. Details of the final show -- taking place at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys -- will be announced soon.

Members of Strait's fan club will purchase tickets during a pre-sale period beginning Sept. 24. American Express card members will also be able to purchase tickets before sales to the general public open on Sept. 27 at Strait's website.
