Miley Cyrus Creates a “Movement” With Upcoming MTV Documentary

Miley: The Movement Trailer Gives Fans an Inside Look at her Transformation

From Disney icon to prominent pop star, Miley Cyrus says she was “born to become who I am right now.”

And fans will get an exclusive glimpse of the controversial star in her upcoming documentary Miley: The Movement premiering Oct. 2 on MTV. Taking fans in the studio, on the road and onstage, she invites viewers along for her “completely insane” movement.

“Right now I’m in a point in my career where I can be exactly what I want to be, who I want to be,” she says.

The one-hour documentary follows Cyrus as she records her Bangerz album and delves deep into her transformation into a boundary-pushing artist.

“Every time I do anything, I want to remember, this is what separates me from anybody else,” she says.

“You’re always gonna make people talk. You might as well make them talk for like two weeks — rather than two seconds.”

Recently, MTV News gave fans an exclusive sneak peek of the documentary, previewing a scene in which she addresses critics of her controversial performance on the recent MTV Video Music Awards.

“I don’t pay attention to the negative,” she says. “I’ve seen this play out so many times. How many times have we seen this play out in pop music? Madonna’s done it. Britney’s done it. Every VMA performance, that’s what you’re looking for. You’re wanting to make history.”

Adding to her controversial VMA performance, Cyrus most recently grabbed headlines and broke records for her latest music video, “Wrecking Ball,” where she appears nude throughout much of the video.

Cyrus promises the documentary will reveal a candid look at her life and career.

“I have this freedom to do whatever I want because I’m starting as a new artist now.”

Miley: The Movement premieres Oct. 2 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Fans can show their reaction to the new trailer on Instagram and Vine using the hashtag #MileyTheMovement.
