Cassadee Pope: Tattoos, Streaks and Smoky Eyes

Cassadee Pope doesn't have that girl-next-door kind of beauty. And that's what makes her so gorgeous because she has more of what I think of as edgy beauty -- as if she brought a little bit of that pop-punk style with her when she came over to the country side.

And we had a chance to talk about three of her signature looks and how you can copy them. However, she did tell me that while she likes to keep things interesting, she does everything in moderation.

"I don't ever want to overdo anything," Pope said.

Tattoos: Pope got her first one the day after she turned 18. And while she told me, "I just have the one piece," what she meant was that she has about four tattoos all over her right arm.

"There's one on the back of my arm," she said. "It's a bird singing. Then I have one on the front that says BND which stands for Believers Never Die. Then I have a smiley face on my hand for my great grandfather. We were really close, and he passed away when I was 10. I called him happy, so I got a happy face for him. Then I have some clouds and pinks and blues and a vine on my wrist where the birds are perched."

She admits she wants to get another tattoo, maybe on her shoulder blade. And she thought about getting some ink to celebrate her win on The Voice, but that it just didn't feel right.

"I want to wait until something monumental happens," she said. "Hopefully I'll have a No. 1 single someday, and I'll be able to do that."

Streaks: Thank Kelly Clarkson for the bold hair color Pope is always rocking.

"I started streaking my hair when I was about 14 or 15," she said. "I loved Kelly Clarkson. She was someone I looked up to, and she had these blond chunks in her brown hair, so I started doing that. And then I switched it and started putting the pieces underneath. I like it to have a feathery look so it looks like feathers are just sticking out a little."

Smoky Eyes: "I do my own makeup for all the radio visits and Rascal Flatts shows. I've always loved smudgy, smoky eyes. I don't like the way I look in cat eyes, so I tend to do a wide-open doll eye. I'm also a huge fan of having a dewy look, so I don't overpowder my face or make it look cakey. And I mostly do a nude lip. But then again, if I have an understated eye then sometimes I'll do a bright pink lip."

See what you think when she puts all these looks together for her CMT docu-series, Cassadee Pope: Frame by Frame, premiering Friday (Oct. 4) at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
