Cassadee Pope Brings Different Kind of Drama to CMT

Cassadee Pope: Frame by Frame Shows the Highs and Lows of Launching a Music Career

You won’t find Cassadee Pope kissing random boys or picking a bar fight in Cassadee Pope: Frame by Frame , CMT’s new docu-series premiering Friday (Oct. 4) at 10 p.m. ET/PT. She has much more important things to do, like launching a career in country music.

But don’t worry, there will be plenty of drama, according to The Voice winner — but it’s not your typical, reality show juice and hot tub scandal.

This is real life — her life. At the moment, it revolves around picking the perfect songs, the perfect wardrobe, releasing a debut album and embarking on a long and arduous journey she hopes will lead her to major stardom.

But, of course, this is the music business, so she assures us there will still be plenty of drama.

“There is natural drama,” Pope told CMT Radio. “It’s not boyfriend stuff, relationship stuff. It’s not petty. It’s real-life drama that happens when you’re picking a new single or figuring out the best way to roll out your new music. I mean, things like that are dramatic.”

Indeed, it can be, and you’ll witness it firsthand. The singer’s every move is captured by cameras as she heads out on her first radio tour with days that sometimes start at 4:30 a.m. and don’t end until the wee hours of the next morning. You’ll see the highs and lows, including the days where she gets so busy, she forgets to eat and when she’s rushing to put on her makeup in the airport terminal or, well, not wearing makeup at all for an appearance.

No one ever said becoming a star was easy — or always glamorous.

Samantha is a country radio insider with a deep love for the music and its stars. She can often be found on a red carpet or at a late-night guitar pull.
