Luke Bryan Gives Back to Farming Communities

Superstar's Farm Tour Raises Money for Local Scholarships

Luke Bryan proudly uses his music as an avenue to benefit farming communities. The reigning ACM entertainer of the year embarked on his fifth annual Farm tour this month, aiming to raise money for scholarship funds at each stop.

“In each town, there’s a local college that’s affiliated with the Farm tour,” Bryan told CMT Hot 20 Countdown . “We give a scholarship out to a kid wanting to attend that college that’s from an agricultural background. It’s just a little something that we can do to make the Farm tour even that much more special.”

The 2013 Farm tour finds the singer taking a brief hiatus from his highly successful Dirt Road Diaries tour. Bryan will visit eight cities throughout the run, including five stops in his home state of Georgia.

CMT Hot 20 Countdown caught up with the star in Macon, Ga., where the fans were ready for a party. It’s those same loyal fans that have helped catapult the singer into superstardom and earned him multiple nominations at the upcoming CMA Awards, including entertainer of the year.

“To be nominated in that category and just to be in that entertainer-of-the-year-type situation is just so special for me and so amazingly rewarding,” he said. “I truly love getting out here and entertaining, and I love being nominated in that category. I hope I can be nominated in that category for years to come.”
