Julie Roberts Brings Good Wine and Bad Decisions to CMT

Blond Beauty Stops by to Perform Songs From Her New Album

There’s not an artist I’d love to crack open a bottle of wine with more than Julie Roberts. Thankfully, she stopped by the CMT offices recently for a casual visit and performance and brought some with her — not literally but in the form of her new album, Good Wine and Bad Decisions.

In my experience, when good wine and bad decisions meet, they usually involve some really good stories. (Sorry, Mama.) And, boy, does Roberts have them.

This blond beauty has seen a lot in her career, including highs like major record deals, a self-titled debut album that reached the Top 10 and was certified gold and “Break Down Here,” a Top 20 single on the country charts. But there were also low moments such as the stress of working as an independent artist, a life-changing diagnosis of multiple sclerosis and a briefer-than-brief moment on The Voice.

But you can’t keep a good girl down, especially one with good wine.

Roberts has found a new home at Sun Records — yes, the same imprint icons like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and Jerry Lee Lewis called home early in their careers. It’s an unprecedented move for the label which hasn’t signed a new artist in 40 years.

With a fantastic team and label behind her, she’s set to make a statement with this new project. It’s soulful, it’s bluesy, it’s swampy, and it’s sensual at times — just like a fine merlot. You’ll want to get a taste of Good Wine and Bad Decisions.

Roberts’ album will be released Oct. 29.
