CMT’s Next Women of Country Gather in Nashville

Danielle Bradbery Joins Collective of Talented Female Artists

Kacey Musgraves, Ashley Monroe and Cassadee Pope are just a few of CMT’s Next Women of Country who gathered Monday (Nov. 4) at a small Nashville restaurant to celebrate the network’s franchise emphasizing female music artists.

Lauren Alaina delivered the event’s first performance with one of her new songs, “Same Day, Different Bottle.” She told the audience she has been developing her songwriting talent since her 2011 appearance on American Idol.

Her performance was followed by Monroe’s “Like a Rose,” Holly Williams‘ “The Highway” and Danielle Bradbery‘s “Heart of Dixie.” The reigning champion from NBC’s The Voice, Bradbery was announced as the latest performer to join CMT’s Next Women of Country.

Kelleigh Bannen, Sarah Darling, Rose Falcon, Rachel Farley, Kristen Kelly, Jana Kramer and Angaleena Presley were also present at the event at the Farm House restaurant in downtown Nashville. Two other members, Brandy Clark and Sheryl Crow, were unable to attend due to prior commitments.

The event was emceed by CMT’s Leslie Fram and Entertainment Weekly‘s Grady Smith. Mike Dungan from Universal Music Group, John Esposito from Warner Music Group, John Grady from Crush Management and Scott Borchetta from Big Machine Records also spoke at the event which recognized the accomplishments of country music’s female newcomers.

CMT will expand the franchise to include more than a dozen taped video performances which will air on CMT, CMT Pure and CMT.com. In addition, CMT will highlight Alaina, Bradbery and Clark as part of its Listen Up series, a multi-platform franchise that showcases artists on the verge of widespread success.
