While we're thinking about collaborations between artists from different genres, let's take a moment to fully appreciate just how adorable Hunter Hayes and Jason Mraz were Wednesday night (Nov. 6) at the 47th annual CMA Awards in Nashville.

The current CMT on Tour headliner joined forces with the "I'm Yours" artist to perform their catchy collaboration, "Everybody's Got Somebody but Me."

With Mraz clad in all black and Hayes in dark denim, the pair started out backstage and gave fans a treat as they made their way into the middle of Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. Though the song's subject matter is gloomy, it's an infectious tune that's easy to love with its upbeat guitar riffs and sweet harmonies.

Did anybody catch who Sheryl Crow was smooching backstage as Hayes and Mraz walked by? Obviously, the singers were in on the joke, but it happened so quickly, it was hard to figure out who the mystery man was. Nonetheless, nice work, Sheryl!

While high-fiving audience members and enjoying the moment, Hayes and Mraz ultimately made their way up to the main stage.

"Everybody's Got Somebody but Me," a track from the deluxe version of Hayes' self-titled major label debut album, was released 12 weeks ago and has already climbed to No. 24 on Billboard's country airplay chart.

Hayes was the 2012 CMA award winner for new artist of the year. He concluded the song by introducing this year's nominees -- Lee Brice, Brett Eldredge, Florida Georgia Line, Kip Moore and Kacey Musgraves.

"This is such an honor," he said before announcing this year's recipient -- Kacey Musgraves.
