Garth Brooks is gathering his band members for four shows at the Wynn Las Vegas resort early next month. But rather than play music that influenced him, as in past Wynn shows, the band will revisit Brooks’ biggest hits.
Brooks confirmed the shows on Tuesday (Dec. 3). They’ll be held in the Wynn’s Encore Theatre.
Titled Garth Brooks: The Man, His Band and His Music, the concerts are scheduled for Jan. 3-4 at 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $200 (not inclusive of taxes and fees) and will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. PST.
“I’ve been itching for the chance to bring my band to Vegas to play this room,” Brooks said. “I can’t wait. Steve Wynn told me I could use the theater anytime. I asked him when I could start, and his response was, ’How about New Year’s Eve?'”
Brooks performed his final solo shows at the Wynn Las Vegas on Nov. 29. Presented as a live CBS special, the show was viewed by 8.7 million people nationwide. Brooks simultaneously released Blame It All on My Roots, a new boxed set at Walmart, featuring his renditions of songs by artists that influenced him.
In the press release, Brooks did not announce any other live shows in 2014 — only the four shows at the Wynn.
“I don’t know if this will happen again,” said Brooks. “So I am taking Mr. Wynn up on his offer. Will there be something else down the road? Who knows! I’m just going to enjoy getting to turn it up in Las Vegas and play with the band again.”
