Kelly Clarkson: Thinking of Her Stepchildren

Kelly Clarkson must be selfless. It's what I've concluded after her recent tweets about some gossip that's been going around about her new husband Brandon Blackstock. It sounds like she personally couldn't care less about these or any other rumors. All she cares about is how it might affect her new stepchildren.

On Friday (Dec. 6), Clarkson jumped on Twitter to tell her 9 million followers, "Keep hearing random rumors of me & Brandon splitting or that's he's cheating on me. Stop with all the lying please #aintnobodygottimeforthat."

I actually hadn't heard of any big Clarkson news lately, other than the fact that she is suffering from morning sickness and other pregnancy-related ailments. She recently told Ellen DeGeneres, at her 11-week mark, "I vomit a good dozen times a day. It's so bad. It's so gross. You're not attractive when you're pregnant."

After that first tweet, Clarkson added, "False rumors don't bother me & Brandon but they do affect the lives of our 12 & 7 yr old. They're kids & don't get that people can print lies."

Blackstock's children from his previous marriage, Savannah and Seth, are in good hands if their stepmother is already looking out for them.

And how's their dad taking all this? With a sense of humor. When one of Clarkson's fans tweeted that "It's sad how low life's make up rumors about @BBlackstock," he shot back with a joke about it being good toilet-seat reading.

Clarkson's holiday album Wrapped in Red was released in October, and her Christmas special Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale will air Wednesday night (Dec. 11) on NBC.
