Taylor Swift Inspires Pop Artist Austin Mahone

Pop Sensation Reveals What He Learned From the Superstar

At age 17, pop star Austin Mahone hasn’t taken his opening slot on Taylor Swift’s Red tour lightly. In fact, he star seems to be following in her footsteps.

“I learned that she puts on a two-hour show and still keeps everyone interested,” he told MTV’s Sway Calloway on the red carpet at Sunday night’s (Jan. 26) Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. “So, I mean, that’s incredible right there. She’s just very talented.”

The Texas native’s current single, “Mmm Yeah,” is currently climbing the charts and features rapper Pitbull. Though he didn’t say whether he would join forces with Swift for a collaboration on his upcoming album, he did reveal the project will be released later this year.

Mahone’s singles include his 2012 debut “Say Somethin'” followed by “Say You’re Just a Friend” (featuring Flo Rida), “What About Love” and “Banga! Banga!”
