Florida Georgia Line Join Mötley Crüe Tribute Album

Eli Young Band, Brantley Gilbert, Justin Moore Will Also Participate

Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert and Justin Moore are among the country artists taking part in a Mötley Crüe tribute album scheduled to be released this summer. The Eli Young Band, Cassadee Pope and LeAnn Rimes will also appear on the album which will be issued through a joint venture with Big Machine Records, Motley Records and Eleven Seven Music.

“I have been a not-so-secret Crüe fan from the beginning,” Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta said Tuesday (Jan. 28) when announcing the project. “When manager Chris Nilsson called with the idea for a tribute album on Big Machine Records, it was an immediate yes from me. Our album will highlight just how great the Mötley Crüe song catalog is. At the end of the day, that’s what will stand the test of time.”

More participating artists will be announced in the months ahead.

“The initial response from the announcement of this album has been overwhelming,” Borchetta said. “There are a lot of artists asking to be included, and we look forward to finalizing plans for the project over the next few weeks.”

On Tuesday morning, Mötley Crüe announced they will conclude their touring career at the end of 2015. The Final Tour will begin July 2 in Grand Rapids, Mich., with the North American dates scheduled through November 2014. The 2015 leg of the tour will include international dates. Alice Cooper will be the tour’s special guest.

Mötley Crüe will perform on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday night and CBS This Morning on Wednesday. The band is also preparing a film version of their best-selling book, The Dirt. The film is expected to debut globally in 2015.
