Brett Eldredge Hopes Fans Follow the “Beat of the Music”

New Single Arrives From "Don't Ya" Hitmaker

With Brett Eldredge’s new single “Beat of the Music,” the flirtatious crooner hopes to pick up where he left off with his No. 1 hit, “Don’t Ya.”

Especially since the 2012 release of “Don’t Ya,” Eldredge has been crisscrossing the country, steadily building a fan base one person at a time. In fact, the singer says even the tiniest stages are fair game.

“Growing a crowd and a fan base every time you go visit, it’s worth it,” Eldredge told CMT Hot 20 Countdown . “It’s worth going on every trip and playing every song, [even] when it’s 10 people out there. Next time, they’ll tell 10 of their friends, and at least you’ll have maybe 30. And then all of a sudden, we’ve been having sold-out shows on my first headlining tour, and it’s the craziest feeling in the world.”

His soulful sound has resonated with country fans, and Eldredge says his live shows are all about energy and creating a memorable experience.

“I can’t sit still onstage,” he admits. “I’ve got to run around. I’ve got to make sure every person in that crowd is just out-of-their-mind excited ’cause I am the whole time. So if they are, then my work is done, and we’re just having fun. That’s the most comfortable I am in the world is on that stage.”

And as for being in the experience himself, Eldredge says there’s nothing quite like it.

“I could be completely worn out — dead tired, sleeping on the ground backstage — and when I hear that first beat and hear that first crowd cheer, it’s over. I’m ready to go. You won’t be able to take me off that stage.”
