Tim McGraw Gets Ready for the Road With CrossFit Routine

Even Superstars Struggle to Carve Six-Pack Abs

Having a hot body like Tim McGraw is no easy feat. Just ask McGraw himself.

He’s coming off a relaxing holiday and preparing to hit the road again this spring on his Sundown Heaven Town tour, but before he does, he’s getting down to some serious fitness business.

Working a stage takes some effort and energy. McGraw says when he’s at the top of his physical fitness routine, he just feels better about his performance and, quite frankly, enjoys it more.

“I don’t ever want to go out onstage when I can’t enjoy it,” McGraw says. “Being fit is something that helps me enjoy it and makes me add more to my show and more energy to the show.”

And then there’s the other harsh reality we’ve all had to face in our own quests to whip ourselves back into shape: Age is not your friend in this battle, my friends. Apparently, even McGraw isn’t exempt from this truth, either, and admits that the older he gets, the harder it is for him to stay on his workout A-game!

What a relief, right? Even Tim McGraw struggles to carve six-pack abs.

But in case you’re wondering how he does get them, it’s the workout regimen known as CrossFit. Which, trust me, will challenge your body and mind in ways you never imagined with moves ranging from massive box-jumping to rowing to — wait for it — tire-flipping.

But it’s all worth it for McGraw, who looks and feels better than ever now that he’s integrated the program into his life.

“I just try to keep on it every day,” he says. “Try to take one day off every now and then.”

With that sort of determination, something tells me those tight white T-shirts will look better than ever on him when the tour fires up this spring. Listen for his brand new single, “Lookin’ for That Girl,” and look out for a brand new McGraw album in May.
