Taylor Swift Tops List of Highest-Paid Musicians

Kenny Chesney and Luke Bryan Also Make 'Billboard''s Top 10 List

Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney and Luke Bryan landed in the Top 10 of Billboard's list of the highest-paid musicians of the past year. Several other country artists are included in the trade publication's story titled "Music's Top 40 Money Makers 2014: The Rich List."

Compiled from data provided by Nielsen SoundScan, Nielsen BDS and Billboard Boxscore, the rankings are determined by U.S. earnings calculated from touring, music sales, publishing royalties and revenue from digital music and video streaming. Revenue from sponsorships and merchandising is not included.

Swift topped the list with earnings totaling approximately $39.6 million. Of that amount, $30 million was generated as her portion of ticket sales during the U.S. dates of her Red tour.

Chesney was No. 2 with $32.9 million, and Bryan landed at No. 8 with $22.1 million. Other artists in the Top 10 are Justin Timberlake, Bon Jovi, the Rolling Stones, Beyoncé, Maroon 5, Pink and Fleetwood Mac

Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, One Direction, Jay Z, Michael Bublé, the Dave Matthews Band and Paul McCartney, Celine Dion, Phish, Kanye West, John Mayer and New Kids on the Block were also among those making Billboard's list.
