Carrie Underwood has occasionally brought something bad into a few of her own songs, including a Louisville Slugger, a rose and a handful of dirt, another glass of whiskey, Jose Cuervo and a pair of goodbye shoes. But now she’s bringing something bad to a song of Miranda Lambert’s.
Early reports surrounding Lambert’s new album are that she has a duet with Underwood called “Something Bad.” Doesn’t that sound good? Great, even?
So even though Lambert had said in an earlier press release that this new album Platinum would be feminine and that “there’s girl power, not in the ’I’m gonna burn your house down and kill you,’ but more where I am as a 30-year-old woman and wife,” I’m guessing this one song will be something powerful.
“We’re really rocking in country music and we’re coming together as a force,” Lambert told the Associated Press. “To me, like, if you’re sitting on the front row, you might want to scoot back. It’s a force. It just feels exciting to me. I’m ready to rock.”
Besides “Something Bad” and the current single “Automatic,” there are 14 other songs I know nothing about. Well, that’s not true. One’s called “Bathroom Mirror” and another is titled “Priscilla.”
And I also know Lambert invited some other guests to sing with her on the album, too. After offering her vocal services to Keith Urban (“We Were Us” ), Justin Moore (“Old Habits”) and Dierks Bentley (“Bad Angel”), I think it’s time for country artists to start repaying the favors.
