Luke Bryan and Ellen DeGeneres: Spring Breakin’ It

Singer Sends Beach Report Via Special Correspondent

In case you missed it earlier this week, superstar Luke Bryan headed down to Panama City Beach, Fla., y’all, to once again relive the glory of spring break with hundreds of thousands of fans.

One of those fans being Ellen DeGeneres — one of Bryan’s buddies and biggest Hollywood supporters. Remember, Bryan has actually served as a red carpet correspondent for The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and who could forget the duo’s hilarious acting in DeGeneres’ soap-opera spoof skit As the Tide Turns?

Sadly, Ellen was not physically able to hit the white sands of Florida with her favorite country singer as she was busy hosting her show in Los Angeles, but her show correspondent Jeannie was on hand to experience all the magic and send it back via satellite.

In her adorable exchange with Bryan, Jeannie admits spring break is an “experience.” Bryan admits it’s his sixth one that’s documented. Makes me wonder about those ones that weren’t documented.

Bryan then blew a smooch on camera to his buddy DeGeneres and dedicated his performance of his new feel-good song, “She Get Me High,” to his favorite talk show host.

About 110,000 fans were dancing to the new tune at Spinnaker Beach Club. That performance from Bryan was one of two free shows the singer delighted fans with during his PCB trek. Overall, more than 230,000 fans came out to watch Bryan stir up the sand.

That’s a lot of cold beer and tanlines.

And I hope you didn’t think we at CMT were going to sit at home and let DeGeneres have all the fun with Bryan. Our very own CMT Hot 20 Countdown was on hand to capture it all, too. All the magic and mojo with hosts Cody Alan and Alecia Davis and Bryan will air March 29 on CMT.

In the meantime, download Bryan’s new EP, Spring Break 6 … Like We Ain’t Ever, and watch his CMT special, Luke Bryan Spring Break: Like We Ain’t Ever March 15 at 2 p.m. ET/PT and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. ET/PT.
