And it’s been a while, but Martina McBride is walking in high cotton again.
Her collection of cover tunes, Everlasting, debuts at No. 1 on the trade publication’s country albums chart on initial sales of 20,880 copies, as attested to by Nielsen SoundScan.
Carlene Carter‘s Carter Girl is the only other new album to chart this week. It arrives at No. 40.
New songs are scarce, as well, with just two to report. Blake Shelton‘s “My Eyes,” which features a vocal assist from Gwen Sebastian, bows at No. 39, while Scotty McCreery‘s “Feelin’ It” parts the curtain at No. 54.
Brad Paisley‘s much-talked-about “River Bank,” which debuted last week at No. 31, stands now at No. 29.
Lined up in descending order behind McBride’s Everlasting in the Top 5 albums cluster are Luke Bryan‘s Crash My Party, Florida Georgia Line‘s Here’s to the Good Times, Johnny Cash‘s Out Among the Stars and Church’s The Outsiders.
Let’s have another go at title tales, shall we? That’s where we link together titles of songs currently on the chart to tell or suggest new story lines.
So here goes: “Makin’ This Boy Go Crazy/Feelin’ It” and “Ready Set Roll/My Eyes.”
Hold your applause, please. It just comes naturally.
