Miranda Lambert says Wednesday night (May 14) was a moment she’ll never forget.
“I can’t believe I’m standing in the Hall of Fame as not only just a fan of country music, but now I have a place here — a space that’s my own,” she told friends during a VIP reception for Miranda Lambert: Backstage Access, a new exhibit officially opening Friday at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in downtown Nashville.
Label folks, industry insiders and artist pals like Gwen Sebastian, Kristen Kelly and Carolyn Dawn Johnson were all there to help Lambert celebrate the momentous occasion, and I was fortunate enough to attend Wednesday’s event.
After all, it’s not every day a tiny blond beauty raised in Lindale, Texas, gets to see her dreams come true. That’s something to clink a glass to, and that’s exactly what guests did as they sipped on Lambert’s signature “Randarita” cocktails and waited for the star to make her entrance.
Dressed in a gorgeous lavender sundress, Lambert was noticeably and graciously overwhelmed when she took the stage.
“When you’re a little girl standing in the mirror singing country songs with your hairbrush, you kind of dream about this moment,” she said. “There’s so many moments you dream of, but this is one of them.”
And the exhibit does not disappoint.
Among the items you’ll see are several familiar wardrobe pieces from photo shoots and music videos. Of course, I was flipping over Lambert’s gorgeous gowns, including the Phillipe and David Blond gown she wears on the cover of her forthcoming Platinum album, as well as her Roberto Cavalli gowns worn at the 2013 Grammy Awards and the 2013 CMA Awards.
Her pink custom Gibson guitar, a “day sheet” schedule from her tour and her pink “in-ear” audio monitors are also on display, along with her 2013 CMT Music Awards . And did you know Lambert has her own line of wines? Each one is titled after one of her songs. I saw a bottle of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. How fabulous is that?
Of course, if I had to pick a favorite piece from the entire display, it would have to be her double saddlery belt with the words “Mrs. Shelton” spelled out in the most decadent rhinestones. Just perfection.
I have to say, this is a must-see, especially for Lambert’s fans.
And she couldn’t be more thrilled to share it with us.
“I’m so thankful for everyone that made it happen and for all the hard work that everybody’s put into it,” she said. “I just can’t tell you how much I appreciate it and how much I cherish it and will never forget this moment.”View photos from the exhibit.
