Alabama Joins CMA Music Festival Lineup

Charlie Daniels Band, Sara Evans, Travis Tritt Also Added

Alabama will perform at the CMA Music Festival for the first time since 1995. They announced their June 5 set at LP Field on Twitter. Their prior concert appearance took place when the annual event was held at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.

"It has always been about the fans with us, and we realized that the best way to celebrate and share our 40th anniversary was to do what we do best -- play live music for the fans that we love at the biggest country music festival in the world," the band said in a statement.

Alabama announced their retirement in 2002, although they returned to the road in 2013. They have 11 other concerts scheduled through September, according to their website.

The festival's June 5 lineup also features Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Brantley Gilbert, Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts.

In addition, Travis Tritt will return to the festival for the first time since 2005. He will perform on June 6, as will Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and The Band Perry.

Sara Evans has been added to the list of performers for June 7. She'll join Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Darius Rucker, Keith Urban and Chris Young. Evans opened the CMA Music Festival on the Riverfront stage last year.

The Charlie Daniels Band will appear at LP Field on June 8, marking their first festival appearance since 2006. Daniels made a special appearance during Brad Paisley's set last year. This year, Daniels and Paisley will again perform on the same night. The evening's roster also features Hunter Hayes, Lady Antebellum, Thomas Rhett and the Zac Brown Band.
