Pistol Annies' Angaleena Presley Plans Solo Album

She Signs to Slate Creek Records

Angaleena Presley, also known as "Holler Annie" in the trio Pistol Annies, will release her first full-length solo album this fall. The project, which has not yet been titled, will be released on Slate Creek Records.

In addition to writing and recording the music, Presley produced the album and served as art director.

"Part of what I loved about Garth Fundis and Jim Burnett at Slate Creek is that they understood where I wanted to go creatively," Presley said. "Producing this album was important to me because of its content. I've lived every word of it and knew exactly how I wanted it to sound."

The Pistol Annies are included on the ballot for the 2014 CMT Music Awards in the category of best collaborative video. They appear in Blake Shelton's "Boys 'Round Here." Fellow members include Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe. The trio went on hiatus in June 2013 following an abrupt tour cancelation.

As a member of Pistol Annies and as a promising solo artist, Presley is one of CMT's Next Women of Country. The Slate Creek roster also includes Brandy Clark, another of CMT's Next Women of Country.

"We could not be happier about Angaleena joining our Slate Creek team and giving us the opportunity to release her remarkable solo debut," said Fundis, Slate Creek's president and creative director. "From the first listen, we knew we wanted to be a part of this and can hardly wait for others to hear what she has created. Angaleena is both poet and artist in the truest sense of those words."
