Miranda Lambert: Emergency Landing Can't Keep Her Away From 2014 CMT Music Awards

"Our plane had an emergency landing in Clarksburg, WV," Miranda Lambert tweeted late Tuesday evening (June 3). "But don't worry, we found platinum fire suits."

Thank God, she's safe and sound. I nearly had a mini (which is really an understatement) heart attack when I saw the message she had posted.

Lambert was in New York City to make the talk show rounds to promote her brand new album Platinum, but when she finally got on a plane to head back to Nashville for Wednesday's CMT Music Awards, the plane was diverted to Clarksburg, W.Va., a community located approximately 40 miles south of the Pennsylvania border.

According to the The Tennessean newspaper in Nashville, the plane lost pressure, made an emergency landing and had to spend three hours on the ground before taking off again.

Lambert and her crew finally landed at the Smyrna Airport near Nashville around 7 p.m.

Carrie Underwood will join her onstage at the 2014 CMT Music Awards to perform "Somethin' Bad," a duet they recorded for Platinum. Lambert is nominated for six awards, so she'll probably have some additional baggage when she heads home for the night.

Lambert will also be performing Friday during the CMA Music Festival's nightly concert series at LP Field in Nashville. She and husband Blake Shelton are on the bill with Eric Church, The Band Perry, Jason Aldean and Travis Tritt.

As for the emotional trauma of the emergency landing, maybe next time she should just stick to her vintage Airstream travel trailer.
