Carrie Underwood Reveals Album Plans at 2014 Fan Club Party

She's Been Writing for Her Next Project, She Tells CMA Fest Crowd

Preparing for the 2014 CMA Music Festival to kick off in full force in Nashville, Carrie Underwood threw a fan club party from the stage of the legendary Grand Ole Opry House on Tuesday (June 3).

Underwood was the first of many artists that will celebrate the dedication of their fans throughout the weekend, delivering a set list filled with her most successful music.

With her latest release alongside Miranda Lambert (“Somethin’ Bad”) heating up the summer, fans may be wondering when more new music will be on the way. In between performances at the private event, the singer revealed new details.

“Speaking of writing, I’ve been doing a whole lot of that lately,” she told the crowd to a huge cheer. “Yay! I know. In the beginning, you just never really know what’s going to happen or what form it’s going to take. There’s always that panic for me.

“A while back I was talking to Kimberly Perry from The Band Perry,” Underwood continued. “And we were swapping writing stories and getting new album stuff together and just talking about it, and she said exactly what I feel.

“She was like, ’What if I don’t have anything to write about? What if that’s it? What if I’m out?’

“And I was like, ’You just gotta get going, you know? You’ll be led in the places you need to be led.’ … And I found that I’ve got some really good stuff guys! Very excited!”

While no official album information has been announced, Underwood will head to the studio this year with another accolade under her belt. She took home the coveted video of the year prize during Wednesday night’s (June 4) 2014 CMT Music Awards.
